A vital key to young adult ministry is life giving relationships, but how do we go about this intimidating, seemingly daunting task?  “Young adults don’t connect the way former generations did—they don’t want a sage on stage,” admonishes Dr. Elmore, “They want a guide on the side.”

Dr. Tim Elmore, the author of the Habitudes series, is the founder and president of Growing Leaders, an Atlanta- based non-profit organization created to develop emerging leaders. Through Growing Leaders, he and his team provide public schools, state universities, civic organizations and corporations with the tools they need to help develop young leaders who can impact and transform society.  Elmore has worked alongside internationally recognized leadership expert Dr. John Maxwell for the past 25 years. YAMA CALL FOR PRAXIS PAPERS:  Young Adult Ministry Practices

The North American Division Young Adult Ministry Advisory [YAMA], will convene at IGNITION, in Columbus, Ohio, on April 11, 2010.  The Advisory invites proposals for brief praxis papers which will be compiled and distributed at IGNITION, April 7-11, 2010. 

Priority will be given to those papers which readily depict currently active young adult ministry practices.  Paper forms may include (but are not limited to) ministry descriptive manuals, developed curriculum, implemented ministry projects [samples available] or masters/doctoral project theses.  Papers from all disciplines are elicited. A 200-word abstract should accompany the paper. The advisory presentation format allows for a 3-minute abstract presentation with additional time for questions and discussion.
