1.      What is JCI and what is the purpose?
JCI is a prayer conference for youth, pathfinders, academies, college students, or anyone who seeks a deeper experience in Jesus to come together for spiritual growth and renewal. JCI is an excellent opportunity for young people to invite old friends back to church. You will also learn ways to impact your local church and community and make a significant difference.
2.      Who can participate?
Anyone can be a delegate. A delegate is simply one who officially registers for this historic experience. There is no limit on the number of delegates from a church or pathfinder clubs. However, each package is limited to a certain number of participants for the event.


1.      How long will registration stay available - REGISTRATION ENDS ONLINE – Plusline registration will end on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 12:00 noon EST.  All hotel reservations will cut off the day.  We encourage you to register ASAP.

2.      ON-SITE REGISTRATION – On site registration will be open for Individual Delegate ($140) and the Workshops Only ($60) as long as supplies last.  There are no Sabbath only workshop or Meal Tickets options for this event.  The Workshops Only ($60) is still a bargain for Sabbath only.  Have someone purchase for you on-site on call Plusline by Tuesday. Thanks for your understanding!

3.      ARRIVAL/REGISTRATION PROCESS – Upon arrival, delegation leader should come to the convention center entry and proceed to Hall C&D areas.  You will see the JCI Registration Booths.  Present your confirmation and you will receive delegate backpacks including t-shirts.

4.      Can I register for one day?
Unfortunately, there is no daily package. However, all general sessions are open to everyone. You will find it more economical to participate as a delegate rather than pay for each item separately. (See price list in brochure)

5.      What is the cost for each item if I do not choose the All Inclusive Package?
Training Seminars on DVDs - $20
Hotels: Rates $79.00 - $110.00 per night

6.      Will youth and young adults be seriously involved with running JCI?
Yes. This is your program and your opportunity. Many will be surprised to see what youth can do given the chance. Just make sure you are signing up.

7.      Are there any limits on the number of delegates from my church?
No. There are no group limits. Everything is first come first serve. However, Delegate Inclusive Package is limited.


1. PARKING RATES – Hyatt - $8.00, Convention Center - $8.00 Garage and $7.00 outside.

2. BUS PARKING – Bus parking is $14/day and payment is due upon entry to the parking lot.
Busses arriving in Columbus can drop off their groups in the “Connector” between the Hyatt and Convention Center (off High Street) and then proceed to the East lot (parking map attached).

3. HOW MANY BUSSES? The Convention Center would like to know approximately how many busses are coming so they can plan to set aside space. It is crucial that we know HOW MANY BUSSES are coming.  Please email Brad at brad@adventsource.org with the number of busses and also your church/group name.


1.      I am a delegate, which hotel will I be assigned?
HOTEL ASSIGNMENTS – If you registered for the Inclusive Package during the early bird, you will be in the Hyatt Hotel.  Please review the delegate list to see your group/church hotel assignment.  Each hotel was carefully selected.  These are all enclosed downtown convention hotels.  You will be pleased!  PLEASE, NO CALLS ABOUT CHANGES.  The majority of our delegates will be staying at the Hyatt and Crown Plaza.

2.      Can I stay in one of the JCI hotels if I am not a delegate and want to create my own package?
Yes. Once JCI delegates have been assigned we will have rooms available at a discount rate. However, if the convention sells out we cannot make any guarantees. Also remember it will be more economical for your group to get the “Delegate Inclusive package”.

3.      What re the hotel options for downtown?
Yes, there are a total of 7 hotels within the area. Prices range from $79- $110 See brochure for more details


1.      1. AIRPORT SHUTTLES - Remember we have a special discounted rate. Go to http://jci2.adventistyouthministries.org/travel.htm and make your reservation
2.      Limited transportation will be provided to those participating in the community prayer and outreach ministries. We highly recommend that large groups use their own transportation


1. Are there any social activities for teens and recreation?
Yes. TEEN CAFÉ (AFTERGLOW) - Teens are invited to the teen cafe after each evening meeting. Come to hang out in a laid back environment with your friends and make some new friends. (9:30-10:30 pm room D130)

2. Multiple recreation activities will take place daily in Halls C & D. There will be volleyball courts, basketball courts, soccer courts, flag football courts. Teams can be organized but there is no competitive play. All games are short to allow for quick rotations. Also, there are a host of other JCI sponsored activities.

3.      Are there any other things teens can get involved in? Yes,
TEENS PREACHING AT JCI2 – If your youth have a short 10 minute sermon they would like to share, we have several opportunities – “Hey Youth!!! Preach the WORD!!!”  Contact Pastor Rogers Johnson at rogers_J_2000@yahoo.com

4. How do I sign up as a volunteer?
We need Master Guide volunteers who have already had background checks. Other volunteers can be recommended via pastor or youth leader recommendations. Click the volunteer tab or email our Volunteer coordinator tdodge@misda.org

MASTER GUIDES IN UNIFORM – Master Guides, we need your help in the convention area as monitors for 9 areas.  Please commit to 4 hours one day.  Without you, the convention center would charge us to use their staff.  Please help us avoid this major expense. This is an URGENT MATTER!!!

DEACONS/ELDERS/YOUTH DIRECTORS/VOLUNTEERS (Ohio Area) – We need you to volunteer for 4 hours one day as well.  Please give the youth your assistance.  Contact Terry Dodge immediately at tdodge@misda.org or Lee Batton at lb7192@att.com.  This is an URGENT MATTER!!!

6. Are there opportunities for musicians to participate?
Yes. There are plenty of opportunities daily. You will have to be a delegate to perform. Contact mailto: edavis4064@aol.comor see music tabs for sign up instructions.

7. Are there food places to eat near the convention center? Yes FOOD COURT – There is a food court in the lower level of the Convention Center.  Among several great restaurants, is a Subway, Mexican, Italian, etc.  The Food Court is independently operated and we have no control over menu

8. Will there be any mission projects?
Yes. There about 50 projects being organized. Youth will be dispersed around the city. Projects range from low income senior citizen home improvements to environmental projects. See detailed list under mission projects.

9. What is the Just Makeover Mission Project?
Over 625 youth will join local area youth with the Just Makeover Mission Project to help low income senior citizens and the disabled with basis home improvements. There is no cost to Inclusive Delegates, $60 for others wanting to participate. To register your group, click the Just Makeover tab from the home page. Volunteer team leaders are needed!!!

10. Can my conference or local church be responsible for a creative youth activity?
Yes. Submit description of activity through the web site under the suggestion tab.

11. Language translations - Will there be language translations?
Yes. Spanish, French, and Deaf Interpreters. Other languages may be added. Volunteer translators are needed.

12. Will JCI be televised?
Yes. All general sessions and several street ministries will be televised LIVE via the Adventist Youth Television and Future HOPE Channel Television broadcast.
