GENERAL

  1. What is JCI and what is the purpose?
    JCI is a prayer conference for youth, pathfinders, academies, college students, or anyone who seeks a deeper experience in Jesus to come together for spiritual growth and renewal. JCI is an excellent opportunity for young people to invite old friends back to church. You will also learn ways to impact your local church and community and make a significant difference.
  2. Who can participate?
    Anyone can be a delegate. A delegate is simply one who officially registers for this historic experience. There is no limit on the number of delegates from a church or pathfinder clubs. However, each package is limited to a certain number of participants for the event.

Registration

  1. How much does it cost and how do I register?
    The Early Bird registration is now until February 15. We recommend that youth register as a full delegate. This package provides the full experience for each participant. The early-bird cost is $310.00 per person quad (4 people to a room). This includes lodging, meals, workshops, training, and much more (Chaperones required). See brochure for complete list.

Please note that the Delegate Inclusive Package is the only one which includes hotel, meals, registration and much more.

  2. Can I register for one day?
    Unfortunately, there is no daily package. However, all general sessions are open to everyone. You will find it more economical to participate as a delegate rather than pay for each item separately. (See price list in brochure)
  3. What is the cost for each item if I do not choose the All Inclusive Package?
    Training Seminars on DVDs - $20

  4. Will youth and young adults be seriously involved with running JCI?
    Yes. This is your program and your opportunity. Many will be surprised to see what youth can do given the chance. Just make sure you are signing up.
  5. Will visa letters be provided for international delegates?
    A general letter will is downloadable. However, for international choirs who are participating in the Music Fest and other program participants, additional assistance is available.
  6. Are there any limits on the number of delegates from my church?
    No. There are no group limits. Everything is first come first serve. However, Delegate Inclusive Package is limited.
  7. Can Pathfinders attend as delegates?
    Yes. We are expecting over 3,000 pathfinder delegates in Class A dress uniform. We would like to display every pathfinder club banner in North America. The same banners will be carried by two pathfinders from that club during the parades.

Accommodation

  1. I am a delegate, which hotel will I be assigned?
    All delegates are lodging at the Arena District Hyatt Regency in downtown Columbus. We will fill the Hyatt first (the headquarters hotel) and then the Drury Inn & Suites. Delegates will be notified.
  2. Can I stay in one of the JCI hotels if I am not a delegate and want to create my own package?
    Yes. Once JCI delegates have been assigned we will have rooms available at a discount rate. However, if the convention sells out we cannot make any guarantees. Also remember it will be more economical for your group to get the “Delegate Inclusive package”.
  3. What re the hotel options for downtown?
    Yes, there are a total of 7 hotels within the area. Prices range from $79- $110 See brochure for more details

Transportation

  1. Is local transportation provided for delegates during the convention?
    Limited transportation will be provided to those participating in the community prayer and outreach ministries. We highly recommend that large groups use their own transportation
  2. How can I get from the airport to the hotel?
    JCI has negotiated round trip discount rates with local shuttle companies. Contact information will be available on the web site under the travel tab.

Programming

  1. If I would like to be a presenter, what do I need to do?
    Go to the Workshop tab. Scroll to the bottom of page and click “Presenters Application and follow all instructions
  2. Are there any social activities on Saturday night?
    Yes. Multiple recreation activities will take place daily in Halls C & D. There will be volleyball courts, basketball courts, soccer courts, flag football courts. Teams can be organized but there is no competitive play. All games are short to allow for quick rotations. Also, there are a host of other JCI sponsored activities.
  3. Are exhibit and vendor opportunities available at JCI?
    There are 150 exhibit booths available in Convention Center Hall C&D. Delegates will have lunch daily in this area and there is a stage with programming for entire afternoon. Contact brad@adventsource.org for more details.
  4. How do I sign up as a volunteer?
    We need Master Guide volunteers who have already had background checks. Other volunteers can be recommended via pastor or youth leader recommendations. Click the volunteer tab or email our Volunteer coordinator hubertcisneros@cs.com
  5. What seminar topics will be covered?
    We are providing 14 different tracks. Each track has multiple seminars. Click the workshop tab for a detail list and description.
  6. Are there opportunities for musicians to participate?
    Yes. There are plenty of opportunities daily. You will have to be a delegate to perform. There are several Live Recordings that we are seeking Instrumentalists and Vocalists. Contact edavis4064@aol.com or see music tabs for sign up instructions.
  7. Will there be any mission projects?
    Yes. There about 50 projects being organized. Youth will be dispersed around the city. Projects range from low income senior citizen home improvements to environmental projects. See detailed list under mission projects.
  8. What is the Just Makeover Mission Project?
    Over 625 youth will join local area youth with the Just Makeover Mission Project to help low income senior citizens and the disabled with basis home improvements. There is no cost to Inclusive Delegates, $60 for others wanting to participate. To register your group, click the Just Makeover tab from the home page. Volunteer team leaders are needed!!!
  9. Can my conference or local church be responsible for a creative youth activity?
    Yes. Submit description of activity through the web site under the suggestion tab.
  10. Language translations - Will there be language translations?
    Yes. Spanish, French, and Deaf Interpreters. Other languages may be added. Volunteer translators are needed.
  11. Will JCI be televised?
    Yes. All general sessions and several street ministries will be televised LIVE via the Adventist Youth Television and Future HOPE Channel Television broadcast.
